“Perligips” Thinset

In our work we use “Perligips” plaster-based thinset for installation of plaster based decorative cast stone.

Utilization Field

“Perligips” thinset is used for building walls from gypsum partition boards or for fixing gypsum planks, polystyrene plates, etc. on interior walls.

Surface Preparation

• The surface must be dry, free from dust or grease, and have a temperature not lower than +5 ° C.
• Highly absorbent surfaces should be primed with “Grundirmittel” or similar primers. For dense non-hygroscopic surfaces (concrete) it is better to use such primers as “Betokontakt”.

Thinset Preparation

• Pour the adhesive mix into clean cold water in the ratio of 1 kg of dry mix to 0.55 liters of water.
• Stir until smooth and lamp-free by hand or with a mixer.
• The setting-up time (including preparation, application, and floating) is 120 ± 10 minutes after mixing. The use of untreated container and tools will shorten the setting time of the thinset.

Work Procedure

• Apply the thinset onto a gypsum plank or other material in 35 cm increments.
• If the surface is very rough, it is necessary to align it with gypsum strips 10 cm wide fixed with “Perligips.”
• Press the panel to the prepared surface; screed it using a spirit level both vertically and horizontally with light strokes.
• Fit the gypsum planks tightly to each other; then fill in the joints with the tiling grout.
• The ready thinset is recommended to use during 30 minutes after setting-up. The containers and tools should be washed with clean water before each mixture as well as after work.

Thinset Consumption

• For fixing gypsum planks - 5 kg per 1 m.
• For building walls from gypsum partition boards - 2 kg per 1 m.

Storage

• The adhesive mix is supplied in bags of 30 kg.
• The bags should be stored on the pallets in a dry area.
• Exclude moisture, dirt, or mechanical damage to the package.
• The stack height should be no more than 1.8 m (two tiers).
• The storage period is 6 months from the date of manufacture.

Safety Requirements

• The thinset does not release any harmful chemicals into the environment and belongs to the 1st class of the effective specific activity of natural radioactive nuclides.
• The dry mix is classified as non-combustible materials.
